Welcome to Salama Hosting — Uganda's trusted web hosting provider, operated by Salama Consult Limited ("we", "us", "our"). By visiting salamahosting.com and using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") along with our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and any product-specific agreements. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Our Services
Salama Hosting provides web hosting, domain registration, SSL certificates, email hosting, and related digital services. We are committed to delivering reliable, fast, and secure hosting with 99.9% uptime guaranteed under our Service Level Agreement. Our infrastructure is built on NVMe SSD servers with real-time monitoring and redundant network links.
2. Account Registration and Responsibility
To access our services, you must register an account and provide accurate, up-to-date information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at support@salamahosting.com if you become aware of any unauthorised access to your account.
You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether conducted by you or a third party. Salama Hosting will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorised use of your account.
3. Acceptable Use
All services must be used for lawful purposes only. You agree not to use Salama Hosting services to transmit, store, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes the rights of others. Our full Acceptable Use Policy sets out prohibited activities in detail and forms part of these Terms.
4. Payment Terms
All prices are quoted in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We accept MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, Pesapal (Visa / Mastercard), and bank transfer. Payment is due at the time of order or renewal.
Hosting accounts are billed in advance on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual cycle depending on your chosen plan. Annual plans offer the best value and include a free domain name and free SSL certificate.
5. Renewals and Late Payments
We will send renewal reminders by email 14 days and 3 days before your due date. If an invoice remains unpaid on its due date, the account will be suspended. Accounts unpaid for more than 7 days past the due date will be terminated and data may be permanently deleted. Salama Hosting is not liable for data loss resulting from non-payment. We encourage customers to enable auto-renewal to avoid interruption.
6. Cancellations
You may cancel your hosting account at any time by submitting a cancellation request through the Client Area. Upon cancellation, your account will remain active until the end of the current billing period. Please review our Refund Policy for information on refund eligibility.
7. Privacy
We are committed to protecting your personal information. Our Privacy Policy explains in full how we collect, store, and process your data. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as required to deliver our services or comply with applicable law.
8. Uptime and Service Levels
Salama Hosting guarantees a 99.9% monthly uptime for all shared, reseller, VPS, and cloud hosting plans. Planned maintenance windows are communicated at least 24 hours in advance. In the event of unplanned downtime exceeding our SLA threshold, eligible customers may request a service credit. Downtime caused by factors outside our control — including DDoS attacks, acts of God, or third-party network outages — is excluded from this guarantee.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, designs, code, trademarks, and logos on salamahosting.com are the intellectual property of Salama Consult Limited and are protected by applicable Ugandan and international copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without explicit written permission.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Ugandan law, Salama Hosting's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the three (3) months prior to the event giving rise to the claim. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including loss of revenue, loss of data, or business interruption.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate services — with or without notice — in the event of a material breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. Where practical, we will notify you and offer an opportunity to remedy the breach. Upon termination for cause, no refund will be issued.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising from the use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda. We will always endeavour to resolve disputes amicably through our support channels before any formal action is taken.
13. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, or applicable law. We will notify registered customers of material changes by email at least 14 days in advance. Your continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
